This Brief Introduction to the Old Testament has been prepared in response to requests on the part of ministers and church school workers that would serve as a companion volume to the Brief Introduction to the New Testament.
It is designed primarily for use in connection with study courses on the Old Testament for church workers, although it will have wider use as an elective course in the church school, in-service ministerial training institutes, and for individual study. For this reason critical discussions have been eliminated as much as possible.
We hope that this companion volume about the Old Testament will be instrumental in creating a greater appreciation and study and understanding of God and his word as we have it in the Old Testament.
