TWO CLASSES OF OFFICERS.
authorized by the New Testament.
Paul and Timotheus the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the Bishops and Deacons. — Philippians 1:1.
In I Timothy 3, both Elders and Deacons are set forth and their qualifications, and no other officers are mentioned. Hence there are only two classes of officers of divine appointment in the body of Christ.
