If you have never read and studied the Bible as much as you thought you should, and if you have always wished you knew how to get started reading the Bible, then this book was written for you. It will not tell you all you want to know, but if it helps you in any way to read the Bible with a little more zest and understanding, I will be content.
This book has grown out of a series of lectures given in a number of churches over the past six years. In each of these churches the people were most eager to learn how to study the Bible. Young and old alike have listened closely, studied diligently, and asked thoughtful questions. The notion that no one today is interested in the Bible is simply not true. More Bibles are being bought today than ever before.
