Did the author of this book know anything about marriage and divorce? His first wife died early into their new marriage. His second wife accepted the teaching of a "third work of grace" which meant celibacy in marriage. Warner wanted to be holy, but not that holy. He didn't believe the Bible taught this. They separated and she filed for divorce some years after their separation. Their son, Sidney, lived with his father who was a very busy evangelist. Warner did his best with his situation. He didn't remarry until after his second wife died in Cincinnati. He soon married Frankie Miller, a member of Warner's evangelistic company. They had traveled the country together. Their marriage was short due to Warner dying Dec. 12, 1895 in Grand Junction, Michigan. Even busy preachers desire a companion in life. Warner certainly thought much about marriage during his lonely years. His research in the Bible gives us this booklet.
