During the time of his ministry here on earth, Jesus preached the gospel of repentance, remission of sins, and deliverance from the power of Satan. Miracles and healing followed his preaching of the gospel. “Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand . . . and Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogs, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people” (Mat_4:17; Mat_4:23).
In his last message to his disciples Jesus told them to go forth and do these things and to teach all nations to observe and do them, and he said that he would be with them “even unto the end of the world.” The end of the world has not yet come; that command has not been revoked; and it is the object of this book to show by precept and example, by the Word of God, and by practical experience, that signs and wonders will follow the preaching of the gospel now the same as in times past, and that God will hear and answer wherever he finds people who believe and act upon his promises.
After Jesus Christ left this world, he went to heaven (Act_1:11; Act_7:56) and was there while his disciples continued preaching the gospel with the signs following, and he is still in heaven endued with the same power (Mat_28:18) to help his ministers and followers. “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Heb_13:8).
The lists given herein do not contain all the miracles and healings, sicknesses and diseases, mentioned in the Bible; but a sufficient number are given to enable one to readily become acquainted with the recorded evidences of what has been done, together with the promises of what God will do for those who will believe and practise his teachings.
During more than thirty years of experience in gospel work the author has witnessed the healing of many thousands of people and the deliverance of many from the power of Satan; consequently he does not hesitate to declare these messages of healing. The experiences of those who have been healed as recorded herein, were mostly written by request specially for this book. Information from other sources is humbly acknowledged.
In the perusal of these pages it will be observed that a number of scriptures have been used over and over again. This repetition was for the purpose of more deeply impressing the truths presented.
It is with the deepest sympathy for suffering humanity and with an earnest prayer for the deliverance of the oppressed and those undergoing the hard ships of affliction and the pains of sickness and disease, that this volume is humbly submitted.
In agreement for your help and deliverance, I am,
Yours in Him,
E. E. BYRUM.
