In every reform, whether religious, moral, or political, there are always those who, fired with its spirit, are the pioneer exponents of its principles. The present religious reformation, which consists in the upholding of true holiness as a Christian attainment and the standard of the true church as distinct from denominational divisions, is no exception. There were those who were baptized with its burning truth and who were willing to brave the necessary hardships in blazing the way for the establishment, once more in the earth, of the New Testament church in her undivided wholeness. They were pioneers, and as the pioneer or initial stage occurs but once, and as it may be said that the reformation has passed this stage, we point back with interest to these pioneers, whose examples of devotion, faithfulness, and trust we may safely follow.
