Sanctification A Second Cleansing

The teaching and profession of entire sanctification as a second work of grace in the heart subsequent to regeneration has from the beginning been characteristic of us as a people. This experience has been held up as the goal of Christian experience, and believers have been urged to obtain it. But in the recent, years questions have been raised by some as to just what the experience is and concerning the Scripturalness of it in some respects. What are the grounds for these objections or fears? It is not our purpose in this article to prove the doctrine of a second cleansing, but we do wish to call attention to the weakness of some of the objections that are brought against sanctification. We believe that the questions that arise in the minds of some concerning the doctrine and experience of sanctification are not because of any weakness of the doctrine, but because of the lack of clear knowledge of the subject on the part of these individuals.
