Books on the church do not often become best-sellers, and the authors are seldom praised. The readers of such volumes are a varied assortment of believers—professors, ministerial students, pastors, and a small group of theologically-minded churchmen. In all likelihood this thoughtful volume will receive like treatment. We hope and pray a better fate for it.
