The Gift of Tongues and Other Tongues

This revised edition of the original work takes into account more of the historical and cultural context in which the issue of tongues originated. The exegetical section is more detailed as it now includes literary considerations such as form, structure, and redactions. Under the historical section, a sincere effort has been made to research and document the effect that the gift of tongues has had upon the Church of God (Anderson) in the local and national setting. In the closing sections of the book, the author endeavors to summarize the biblical foundations for his postulates regarding the proper use of the gift as well as its implications for ministry in the 21st century. Lastly, he includes a valuable resource in his appendix regarding the report of a study committee adopted by the General Assembly of the Church of God Anderson in June of 1986.
