THE Sea of Galilee and the hills and mountains round about never seem more beautiful and endearing to our hearts than when recalled to our memories in the language of the Man of Galilee himself and as recorded by his disciples.
The aim of this little volume is to present the story of the Christ of the Bible in his own language, in that of the disciples, and as foretold by the prophets, thus acquainting the young reader with the exact words as recorded in the Bible in the narration of his life.
It is not a narration of all that is said about him, but of some of the most important things recorded, with the scriptural references, which render it more convenient for further Bible study. Thus, it does not appear to the reader to be a “made-up” story, or an idle tale; but knowing it to be a truthful statement—the words of the Lord, as spoken by himself and his disciples—the facts will dawn upon the mind more vividly and make more lasting impressions—impressions which time will not erase.
It is quite difficult for many young people to become interested in reading the Bible, but it is hoped that the reading of these chapters will create an interest in, and a love for, the precious Word.
