The Promise of the Father

PROMISE OF THE FATHER! What hope this should gender in our hearts. What expectancy should be ours. Have YOU received the PROMISE of the FATHER? This promise of the Father (Luk_24:49) refers to the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is God’s greatest gift to mankind. We do not depreciate the importance of salvation in its initial phases of justification and regeneration, but these are likely to prove futile unless one goes on to perfection, to maturity, to the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the completing of our equipment for service as well as the power which he brings to the recipient.

But how does he come? When does he come? What must we do to obtain this baptism of the Holy Spirit? What precedes his coming? What does he do when he comes? What is the experience, and how does it differ from the initial experience? We could brush these questions aside by saying the important thing is to HAVE the Holy Spirit, but many need to know the answers to these questions before they can intelligently interpret their present experience, and know what to do about improving it. This booklet is dedicated to the answering of some of the above questions. To this end five chapters or sections are contained herein. These are written in dialogue form to make the material more interesting and stimulating.
