The title for this book is derived from Paul’s exhortation to Titus which says, “But speak thou the THINGS WHICH BECOME SOUND DOCTRINE.” Titus 2:1. The main purpose of this treatise is to present a fairly comprehensive statement on the MAJOR DOCTRINES OF THE BIBLE, with particular emphasis on the nature of the Godhead. Unless God is rightly known He cannot be intelligently served. The field of religious thought today is influenced by a flood of literature presenting inadequate and erroneous ideas of God. Some reduce God to a principle; others deny the essential deity of Jesus Christ; many are confused and misinformed as to the nature of the Holy Spirit, while the vast majority are at a loss to explain the Triune nature of God. Every error in the religious world emanates in some way or other from a wrong idea of God, of Christ, or of the Atonement. It is primarily to contribute something to enlighten the average layman on this important subject that this work has been undertaken.
