In 2000 Church of God Ministries/Warner Press published The Church of God at the Crossroads, a clear call to the church to remember, reflect, and refocus on the nature of the Church of God reformation movement. Widely read and discussed, Crossroads brought new hope and a sense of direction.
In 2002, we publish for the church Vision for the Church of God at the Crossroads—a new invitation to sort out and come to terms with becoming the church that is pleasing to God.
Dr. Stafford has once again provided for the church a dynamic work that will focus our attention and create dialogue among us. The principles that guide our church’s ministries need to be rooted in biblical doctrine as understood by our heritage and leadership. Dr. Stafford has crisscrossed the world discerning these principles while talking with significant leaders. As God led him to important conclusions, Dr. Stafford sought to apply these conclusions to the local church. This down to earth approach provides a marvelous resource for the pastors and leaders of our churches around the world. Vision, strategy, and plans are dynamic in the sense that they must be created and applied in each local situation. Dr. Stafford’s approach allows for this flexibility, yet there is commitment to the core values of the Church of God reformation movement. This magnificent work will assist the church as we seek to discover the path of ministry for our world in the coming years.
