Although modern writers tend to accept divorce as casually as they accept marriage, they have a difficult time explaining the pain and problems that follow every divorce. However justifiable divorce may seem to be, it is never without painful consequences. There may be moments of relief, even feelings of optimism from time to time as people escape from what seem to be intolerable marriage situations, but the joy is short-lived. Following closely on the heels of whatever positive emotions there are, will come feelings of failure, emotional and even physical weakness. These may be postponed, but they cannot be denied.
If I were to find any answer to the towering problem of divorce I would have to find it in His teachings and in His spirit.
